Yummy Puto with Corn & Cheese Easy Recipe! - The Public Servers

Puto with Corn and Cheese Ingredients

(2) cups rice flour

3/4 cup sugar

(1) tablespoon baking powder

(1/2) teaspoon salt

(1/2) cup powdered milk

(1 and 1/4) cups fresh milk

(1/2) cup creamed corn

(1) large egg

(1/8) cup salted butter, melted, more for greasing the molds

(1/2) cup sweet kernel corn, drained

(1/2) cup cheese, grated large, more for topping



How to make?

1. Preheat a steamer. And lightly grease 12 medium puto molds then set aside. 

2. In a large bowl, use a whisk to mix rice flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and powdered milk. Make a small space in the center, and pour in fresh milk, creamed corn, egg, butter, corn kernels, and cheese. Stir it and until well mixed is achieved. 

3. Using a 1/3 measuring cup, ladle your puto mixture into the prepared molds, taking care that each mold has corn kernels and cheese. (Mix the batter as needed to re-incorporate any rice flour that may settle on the bottom of the bowl.) 

4. Place the molds in the preheated steamer. Prepare and place a clean kitchen towel over the molds and across the rim of the steamer, and place the lid on. (The use of the towel is that, it will catch any droplets from falling onto the puto.)  

5. Steam for about 10 minutes or until the puto have risen. Remove from the steamer and let it cool slightly before removing from the molds. Serve it with butter and more grated cheese and corn on the side. Enjoy!
