1 cup boiling water

1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3 cups powdered sugar

1/3 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract


1 Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2 In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.

3 Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until smooth.

4 Stir in boiling water to the batter, a little at a time, until well blended.
